The County Conservative Foundation
The County Conservative Foundation. Who are we? What are we doing? Well, to make a long story short, we are here because now, more than ever, conservative ideals are critical to the health, well-being, and future of America and American families. Never before in the history of the country have the ideals of the free market, limited government, self reliance, and the American Dream been under more assault. To add insult to injury, those same American ideals are not under assault from some foreign country, a rogue dictator, or an insurgent force. No, unbelievably, the foundations of the principals that founded this nation are under assault from our government.
Bailouts, rather than accountability, are the “flavor of the day.” Oh, and we aren’t talking about the bailout of Chrysler and Lee Iacoca in 1979 which was a mere $1.5 billion dollars. The controversial bailout of Chrysler in 1979 was hotly debated by our Congress and passed not as pure free money to an automaker but, rather, merely required the government to act as the guarantor in the event of a default of private financing. Today, we only wish the figures being debated were $1.5 billion. In fact, $1.5 trillion would be a deal compared to the trillions and trillions of dollars being lavished to save bankers, insurers, and government actors from the reckless conduct over the past decade.
America is the greatest nation on earth not because of the ingenuity of our government but, rather, because of the ingenuity of its citizens. The best ideas never come from Washington, D.C. They come from ordinary citizens in local communities. Government is not and will never be the answer to our problems. Government should exist only to serve the needs of its citizens.
Conservative ideals are not dead. Conservative ideals are just fine. We simply need elected officials that understand and appreciate the value of those principals.
Taking back America from a government out of control begins with a single act in a single community. It begins with ordinary citizens fed-up with being slaves to a system run amuck. It begins with movements like the County Conservative Foundation. It begins with you.
We invite you to join us on this join to rediscover the America for which so many brave men and women dedicated their lives, fortunes and sacred honor.
New direction is uncomfortable, many of us are settled in our niche and have made our personal lives as we believe comfortable.
Only those with vision for the benefit for all are willing to move out of the mainstream and begin the movement in that new direction. So many have made statements for change but are unwilling to suffer the pain of the work and sometimes the criticism of those opposed to that reform.
It has become common knowledge that West Virginia needs to abandon the government of the past, you only need to listen to the voices from all directions. Where are those that will brave the voices of opposition and criticism to begin the labor for that new direction? I hear those that lend their voice of opposition with out offering the required effort to move past the vocal.
Step forward, speak out, volunteer, contribute, and offer your assets for the required transformation to take West Virginia in that New Direction!
WV is a poster child for what happens when citizens fail to be active in controlling their lives. It would take a full page to list all the statistics regarding where the State ranks for important indicators of the well being of our people. Maybe that is what we need to do to get our citizens to focus on their status. Our efforts should be on problem-solving and prevention and to ignore party affiliations. The two major parties are the same. Their candidates make promises which rarely are met ,and they always blame others for their failures. Areas to start would be to revamp our lagging education system and to reform our legal system which is notorious nationally for its sullied reputation. The legal system in WV serves as its policeman which is never effective because checks and balances are absolute necessities. Members of the legal system in WV should not be extended special privileges and autotomy as if they are considered to be sovereigns.
Great site ,lots of great comments!
THANK YOU ALL WHO MADE THIS POSSIBLE. This is an answer to my prayers. I was becoming frustrated with no place to go and then I sent an e-mail to a wonderful conservative friend. Let us rise to the challenge and deliver the message to our conservative state. God bless you all.
If Mr. Thaxton thinks this is a good idea we must be on the right track.
