The West Virginia Conservative Foundation (“WVCF”) was formed as an independent organization to help promote conservative values and policies at the federal, state, and local levels. Too Many Taxes
In West Virginia, there seems to be more taxes than there are mountains. There is a pop tax, a food tax, a sales tax, a B & O tax, a franchise tax, a personal property tax (on your car and your dog), an income tax, a self-employment tax, severance taxes, an unemployment compensation tax, etc. etc. Not only does West Virginia have more taxes on individuals and corporations than most other states, but it also has some of the highest rates for those taxes. Government spending is out of control. Trillions of dollars have been spent in the last few months and the federal government is discussing plans to spend trillions more.
